Severe Weather Impacting Jan 25th NOVA Games

NOVA Families-

Due to the upcoming forecast, NOVA anticipates significant disruptions to Sunday’s schedule. Point of fact, Bowie Ice Arena (BIA) has announced it will suspend operations Saturday night through Monday. While I expect other rinks to follow suit, official game statuses will be determined by the policies of the leagues or rink closures.

Per CBHL and CCHL regulations on severe weather:

• In the event of severe weather conditions (not a predicted forecast, but an actual weather occurrence), a game may be postponed.
• Postponement for severe weather conditions may not occur more than 18 hours before the scheduled game time.

To maintain compliance with league standards and avoid setting a precedent of “forecasting” cancellations, NOVA will not issue formal postponements until the 18-hour window is met or rinks officially close.

Please prepare for changes but wait for official confirmation before assuming a game is off.
