NoVA Ice Dogs Girls’ Teams have several options for leagues and level of play. For the 2023-24 season, we have teams at 14U and at 16/19U. Teams compete in the Chesapeake Bay Hockey League (CBHL) and also play independent schedules.

TRYOUTS AND LEVEL OF PLAY

Tryouts are held each spring for placement on teams. The level of play for each team is determined after tryouts and that determines league, schedule, and national-bound declarations. The season runs from August to March.

PRACTICES AND GAMES

For the 2023-24 season, girls’ teams practice once a week at Tucker Road Ice Arena and play 1-2 weekend games. They will also play in 3-4 tournaments throughout the season. Most games are played at rinks throughout Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland with some teams traveling routinely to Pennsylvania and New Jersey; tournaments may be farther away.
