ABOUT

Our recreational youth hockey program is open to players of all levels, from those who have basic hockey skills to more experienced players who may be balancing other sports or commitments. Our 10U-18U teams compete in the Capital Corridor Hockey League (CCHL), which "strives to provide an opportunity for young men and women to participate in an organized and competitive environment, to foster player development and to provide opportunities for personal growth and enrichment."

SEASON OVERVIEW

For the 2025-26 season, we look forward to returning to the Mount Vernon Ice Arena in Alexandria, VA, while also utilizing partner rinks including Tucker Road Ice Rink.

Our season officially kicks off in September, and CCHL players normally have one practice and one game per week, with a final tournament in March. Games are played against clubs located throughout Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland; the CCHL tournament is held at local rinks like Skate Frederick, MD; Ice World, MD; or the Haymarket IcePlex, VA.

REGISTRATION

For our CCHL teams, we typically open registration in late spring/early summer, with priority registration for returning families and then opening to new players as space remains. We don't hold tryouts for CCHL teams and registration is based on capacity. To join our mailing list to be alerted when registration opens, please email kristi.carbone@novaicedogs.org.

Season Details:

• Season starts mid-September
• Practices at Mount Vernon or Tucker Road
• 10U, 12U, 14U: Saturday afternoons at Mount Vernon
  • 10U 1:30pm - 2:45pm
  • 12U 3:00pm - 4:15pm
  • 14U 4:30pm - 5:45pm
• 16U/18U: Wednesdays 8:30pm-9:45pm at Tucker Road Ice Rink

Cost: $1,550
