**Future Caps has reached capacity for the fall session. 

WHO: Kids aged 5-9 who have never enrolled in Future Capitals LTP before. New players! No hockey experience necessary.

FALL SESSION: 9/21-11/23 (8 Future Cap Sessions plus 2 bonus LTP sessions)

DAY/TIME: Sundays 4-5pm

WHERE: Mount Vernon Ice Rink

INCLUDES: New membership with USA Hockey, FREE full head-to-toe Hockey gear, 10 lessons.

PREREQUISITES:

• Must be 5 by 9/21/25
• Participants MUST have prior skating experience (Learn to Skate, private skating lessons, etc.) prior to registering for the Future Caps Learn to Play program.
• Participants must be confident being on the ice without a parent and must be able to skate cross-ice without “marching.”
• Participants must be able to fall on the ice and get back up without assistance.
• Must not have enrolled in a Future Caps LTP session before.
  • If they have, have them consider our LTP Level 2 sessions.

WHO: Kids aged 4-10 (Players who’ve graduated from Future Caps or have some LTP experience)

FALL SESSION: 9/21-11/23 (10 consecutive sessions)

DAY/TIME: Sundays 4-5pm

WHERE: Mount Vernon Ice Rink

INCLUDES: 10 lessons

PREREQUISITES:

Players should have basic skating skills, such as those taught in “Snowplow Sam” programs 1 and 2 (offered through the Fairfax County Parks Authority) or the equivalent. This includes knowing how to fall down and get up, start, stop, and turn.

Participants need to register with USA Hockey. Registration fees vary by birth year.

LTP skaters will need to already have full gear (helmet, pads, gloves, sticks, skates, neck guard) to be on the ice. Check out gear inventory lists here.
